Hand-Tooled Sunflower Antique Platform Rocking Chair
*Recipient of the Best in Show award for the Fine Craft category at the Red Bluff Western Art Show.*
This Dexter-style antique (over 100 year old) platform rocking chair was completely stripped of the old finish and stain then refinished.
After being refinished, this piece received a new foundation and padding.
For the upholstery, this piece features a butter-soft chocolate leather for the padded arms and headrest then Cody from Smokin’ Burro Custom Leather spent over 50 hours hand-tooling the custom designed and cut tooled leather panels for the inside back, outside back and seat. Each hand-tooled leather panel was finished off with copper decorative upholstery nails.
With its history, unique frame design and upholstery, this piece is the perfect centerpiece for any room, and is a great western accent piece for your living room, office or bedroom.
